Powder or liquid ear cleaner?

Question by Beagle lover and owner: Powder or liquid ear cleaner?
I need to clean out my dogs ears and I have always used regular ear wipes from the Pet Store, however their ears need to be flushed/ "deep cleaned".

Their ears are a little stinky so I was wondering....

Is powder or liquid ear cleaner better?
I have used liquid ear cleaner from the vet a few times but their ears are not infected now and that ear cleaner was a prescription.
